Papers 1819-1821.

Papers include a diary of Crawford's trip to Europe and descriptions of the churches and other buildings he saw. Of note are the vivid descriptions of St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City, Rome. Crawford's first night stay is in Uniontown (Pa.) but little indication of where his trip began is given. The wealth of this diary are his descriptions of European cities and the trans-Atlantic voyages.
